Anglicare Tasmania is seeking two Practitioners to join the Families, Children & Young People team, based in Launceston, working full-time (76 hours per fortnight):

  • Permanent, full-time position; and
  • Fixed-term, full-time position (until October 2026).

About the role:

Anglicare Tasmania's Supported Youth Program provides early intervention and diversionary support to young people, focusing on safety, connection and wellbeing. This role involves delivering flexible, outreach-based support, guided by the principles of relational safety and trauma-informed practice. You will be working closing with families, schools and community partners. The Supported Youth Program offers wraparound support that responds to each young people's unique needs and circumstances, helping them stay connected, safe and thriving.

To be successful you will have:

  • Have a genuine passion for working alongside young people and supporting their growth and wellbeing;
  • Understand the broader service system and how to navigate and collaborate within it;
  • Bring experience in applying evidence-based frameworks and approaches to engage, motivate, and strengthen young people's capacity and voice;
  • An understanding of the processes people utilise to overcome adversity/distress arising from life challenges;
  • An ability to recognise and understand people's intrinsic resourcefulness;
  • Provide support in a manner consistent with Anglicare's values and practice principles;
  • Demonstrate high level of communication and interpersonal skills with people who access our services, family/carers, colleagues, other service providers and stakeholders;
  • Ability to accurately document and maintain records;
  • Demonstrated experience with relevant information and communication technologies;
  • Ability to work autonomously within organisational policy and procedure;
  • High level of professionalism and a willingness to develop and reflect on professional practice;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Education, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Counselling and Allied Health) or extensive experience.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check;
  • present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
  • provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
  • complete a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical;
  • provide a current provisional or full Australian Drivers Licence.

On commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
