About the Role

At Sarah Constructions, training and development is an integral part of our culture. We invest in our people to help them grow, excel, and reach their full potential. We run a 12-month Trainee Safety Officer Program and are seeking candidates for our February 2026 intake. If you are currently completing a Certificate in Work Health & Safety, or have a passion for building a career in safety, we would love to hear from you

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Support the project team in the implementation and ongoing development of project-specific WHS and Environmental Management Plans.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with the company's QHSE Management Systems and industry standards.
  • Participate in site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to help identify and control hazards.
  • Assist with incident and injury management, including investigation, reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Support the delivery of site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness initiatives.
  • Help monitor subcontractor compliance with safety requirements and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to maintaining accurate safety records, registers, and documentation.
  • Work closely with experienced Safety Officers and Project Teams to build technical expertise and develop practical on-site skills.
  • Take part in structured training and mentoring as part of the Trainee Safety Officer Program.

As the successful applicant, you will gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects, including new construction, fit-outs, and refurbishments. Throughout the program, you will build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to grow into a future Safety Leader.

About You

You will have a genuine passion for Safety and the following skills and experience:

  • Basic understanding of WHS and Environmental principles
  • Current SA Driver's License
  • Proficiency in the use of IT applications and programs
  • Exceptional communication skills with a customer-centric focus
