We are seeking a skilled and hardworking trades assistant to join our engineering workshop team. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. The trades assistant will work closely with our team of skilled tradespeople to assist in various tasks and projects in the workshop.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist tradespeople with setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment and machinery in the workshop.
  • Clean and prepare work areas and equipment for projects.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Help with the transport to pick up and deliver parts
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in an engineering workshop.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
