About the Role

As the Group Store Internal Auditor, you'll lead end-to-end audits across Bapcor's Australian stores, reviewing key operational areas such as inventory management, cash handling, safety compliance, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.

This role combines analytical rigour with practical problem-solving. You'll uncover not just non-compliance, but the root causes behind inefficiencies and control gaps—and work closely with store leaders and corporate teams to implement meaningful, lasting improvements.

You'll also support investigations into suspected fraud or theft, partnering with Internal Audit, Risk, People & Culture, and Legal teams to gather evidence, analyse data, and deliver reports that can withstand scrutiny.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting operational and compliance audits across store locations in Australia
• Assessing risks, identifying control weaknesses, and recommending improvements
• Preparing detailed audit reports and presenting findings to key stakeholders
• Supporting investigations into fraud, theft, and irregular activity
• Contributing to audit planning, data analytics, and use of GRC tools (Protecht)
• Advising on risk and control improvements in partnership with store and corporate teams

What You'll Bring

• A degree in Commerce or Accounting will be ideal.
• CA or CPA qualified (or working towards) – desired but not mandatory.
• 2+ years' experience in internal audit, risk, or assurance.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage across levels.
• Experience with retail operations or ASX-listed environments is a plus.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Australia - Essential
