The Role
Reporting into the Head of Sales and Growth, the Strategic Sales Manager, is responsible for identifying, fostering and the management of 30 key accounts in the growth stream. You'll spend a significant portion of your time on the road, meeting customers face-to-face, understanding their evolving needs, and delivering solutions that drive long term value. Key to this role will be your ability to foster strong, long-term, multi layered relationships with key decision makers, actively promote their Customer Value Proposition, unlock strategies that encourage customers to remain loyal, and increase their spending over time. This includes developing and implementing programs aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction, building a strong sense of loyalty, and identifying opportunities to offer additional products or services that meet their evolving needs.
You will lead in-person engagements to uncover needs, shape proposals, and guide strategic initiatives. Internally, you will align with teams to deliver customer-focused offers and seamless onboarding. You own renewals, mitigate risks, and build actionable account plans to support long-term retention and growth—while representing the business at key industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pipeline growth through proactive outreach to multiple stakeholders within each account at both C-Suite and line manager levels
- Develop and execute tailored account plans to drive retention, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle, tailoring solutions through discovery sessions and strategic engagement.
- Deliver compelling insights and presentations to your portfolio
- Maintain regular contact with key clients, offering insights and quarterly reviews.
- Be the main point of contact for issue resolution and escalation
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational challenges, as well as onboarding and further training
- Use CRM and analytics tools to track performance, identify risks that may lose market share
- Visit each account to build strong strategic partnerships that focus on account expansion.
- Lead renewals and commercial negotiations while identifying enhancements that boost customer value.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a seamless customer experience
- Monitor market trends and customer feedback to refine strategy and advocate for your competitive edge
Skills and Requirements
- At least 5 years experience in sales management, account management, or customer success, ideally within B2B or e-commerce sectors.
- Demonstrated success in building, nurturing, and maintaining key client relationships.
- Results-oriented with a strong commercial focus and expertise in deal negotiation and closing.
- Skilled in analyzing account metrics, market dynamics, and customer insights to inform decisions.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of clearly conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
- Creative and effective problem solver, adept at resolving client challenges and enhancing workflows.
