The Position
The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting participating schools to implement the School Lunch and SmartFood Programs in their designated region.
Remuneration
The position is covered under the conditions of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 and is aligned with Level 4, plus superannuation. Salary Packaging is available.
The position is part-time 20 hours per week during school terms with paid pro rata annual leave whilst Tasmanian Government funding for the School Lunch Program is available.

About the role
What you'll be doing
Coordinate and manage the delivery of the School Lunch Program and SmartFood program, including liaising with schools, developing and delivering educational workshops, on site school visits and organising community events
Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, community organisations, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the programs
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of both programs, and work to continuously improve their delivery, based on feedback and emerging needs
Contribute to the development of School Lunch Program resources and educational materials
Assist in the promotion and marketing of the SmartFood program to attract new participants
Provide regular reporting on program activities and outcomes (both SLP and Smart Food) to the organisation's leadership team
Sound written communication abilities, coupled with strong attention to detail in monitoring the programs' activities and maintaining accurate records.
Support the leadership team in the implementation of the School Lunch Program as well as working with the SLP Kitchen Supervisor to ensure safe and efficient service of meals in schools
In consultation with schools, identify and support the link between the School Lunch Program and the school curriculum.
Provide input into the evaluation process, led by the Menzies Institute of Medical Research, for students, parents, school staff
Attendance and participation in team meetings.
What we're looking for
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or experience) in community development, health promotion, education or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and implementing community-based programs, with a focus on health and nutrition
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
- An understanding of Australian Curriculum and its potential links to student health and wellbeing
- An understanding of healthy food, including preparation and food safety
- Demonstrated organisational and time-management skills and the ability to achieve outcomes within stated timeframes and prioritise workload
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously with a high degree of transparency and integrity
- Hold a current Tasmanian drivers' licence with the willingness to undertake intrastate travel
- Current 'Working with Vulnerable People – child related activity card, or the ability to acquire
- Knowledge of the local community and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the area of food education and healthy eating
- Passion for promoting healthy and sustainable food practices within the community

Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Sound written communication abilities, coupled with strong attention to detail in monitoring project activities and maintaining accurate records.
Experience and understanding of health promotion principles.
An understanding of Australian Curriculum and its potential links to student health and wellbeing.
Hold a current Tasmanian drivers' licence with the willingness to undertake intrastate travel.
Current 'Working with Vulnerable People' – child related activity card, or the ability to acquire.
