This role is responsible for leading the delivery of complex capital projects and overseeing the City's annual capital works program. It provides strategic leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring seamless end to end project delivery through contemporary, high performing project management practices. The role also plays a key part in shaping and reviewing the City's long term works program, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and future infrastructure needs.
Role Accountabilities Include:
- Align programs with Council's strategic direction and community aspirations.
- Apply political, social, and legal awareness to all initiatives.
- Identify strategic risks and opportunities impacting the organisation.
- Provide high level advice to stakeholders to enhance project planning and delivery.
- Lead the delivery of the approved capital works program, ensuring innovation and risk mitigation.
- Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet technical, safety, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and consultants to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Inspire a culture of innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Promote cross-divisional collaboration for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- Foster a community-first approach through proactive stakeholder engagement.

Essentials for the role:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Current Driver Licence
- White Card
Desirable for the role:
- Experience in delivery of capital projects in local government environment
- Additional studies in business, finance, urban planning and/or management.
