We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manager to join our Business Development Division in our Melbourne location.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development Planning

  • Develop and implement business development strategies in alignment with company goals, to drive revenue and identify growth opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and assess market trends.
  • Create and execute plans to penetrate new markets or expand existing ones.
  • Implement and coordinate the marketing initiatives supporting the business development strategy.

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management

  • Identify opportunities for the legal teams to establish connections with potential clients to generate business leads.
  • Develop and implement strategies to assist the partners to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, referrers, and key stakeholders.
  • Through client listening ensuring client satisfaction and alignment with organisational goals.

Collaboration and Team Leadership

  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, to develop integrated approaches to business growth.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members and colleagues on business development initiatives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of client solutions.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and analyse the performance of business development initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports for management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies as needed.

Business Development Skills

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to design and implement business plans and growth strategies that align with organisational goals.
  • Market Analysis: Expertise in researching market trends, competitors, and client needs.
  • Tenders & Pitching: Strong capabilities in pitching, coaching project teams and;
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding budgets, financial forecasting, and revenue growth.

Communication Skills

  • Interpersonal Skills: Building strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Presentation Skills: Delivering compelling pitches and proposals.
  • Written Communication: Crafting clear and professional documents, such as tenders, reports, and marketing materials.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Team Leadership: Guiding and mentoring team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working effectively across departments like marketing, finance, and operations.
  • Account Management: Maintaining and growing relationships with key clients.

Technical and Analytical Skills

  • CRM Proficiency: Using tools to manage client data, track opportunities, and generate reports.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analysing metrics to assess performance and refine strategies.
  • Digital Marketing Knowledge: Familiarity with tools and platforms that enhance outreach and engagement.
