Location: Hawthorn, Melbourne, VIC

Pay: Award rates + travel + bonuses

Hours: 4–15 hrs/week (mostly weekends)

About Laser Raiders

Laser Raiders is Melbourne's mobile outdoor laser tag experience – we bring the battlefield to parks, schools, and community spaces across the city.

We're a fast-growing, fast-paced start-up shaking up the entertainment and events space. Every event is different, every day is outdoors, and every shift brings energy, laughs, and plenty of action.

The Role

We're looking for confident, high-energy crew members to help run kids' birthday parties, school incursions, fetes and youth events. You'll set up the gear, brief players, host games, and make sure every group has an unforgettable experience.

Applicants must be 17 years or older to be considered for this position.

You'll start by assisting senior crew, then quickly move toward running events independently once trained. Most events run for 1–3 hours of playtime, with an additional 30–60 minutes for setup and pack down + travel.

It's the perfect role for someone who loves working with kids, being outdoors, and leading groups in a fun, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Setting up and packing down laser tag gear (blasters, bunkers, routers, etc.)
  • Hosting and refereeing laser tag games for children and youth groups
  • Keeping energy levels high while maintaining safety and control
  • Transporting and maintaining equipment
  • Running events solo once trained and confident

Who You Are
  • Ideal for uni students or young adults looking for flexible weekend work
  • Confident, responsible, and great with kids
  • Comfortable leading groups and keeping things organised under pressure
  • Physically fit – comfortable lifting 15–20 kg and working outdoors
  • Hold a valid driver's licence and have access to a car (required for transporting equipment)
  • Experience working with children (coaching, camps, cadets, babysitting, etc.) is a plus
  • Working With Children Check required (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Working With Children Check must be obtained within 30 days of commencing employment

Bonus points if you're studying outdoor education, teaching, PE, sport science, or childcare – this role gives you hands-on leadership and coaching experience that will set you apart.
