The Team:
Women's and Children's Services are focused on providing quality, evidence-based patient and family care with a trauma informed lens and growing the health leaders of tomorrow. Numerous professional development opportunities, including regular, quality Clinical Supervision are offered.
The Role:
Providing clinical specialist care, consultancy, and education to staff, patients and families within the Launceston General Hospital requiring lactation support, and leading innovation and research to improve clinical outcomes.
You will need:
- Demonstrated advanced level of clinical expertise in delivering a high level of lactation consultancy and care, including the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and applying research to practice.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate lactation education sessions for patients and staff.
- Sound knowledge of research methodology and continuous quality improvement and their application within the clinical setting.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 28 hours per fortnight, 27 October 2025 until 26 October 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
Salary Packaging:
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
- Accreditation with the International Board of Lactation Consultants
- Current Working with Children Registration

- Holds or working towards relevant postgraduate tertiary qualifications
