About the role

Dentons Australia has a fantastic opportunity in our Adelaide office for someone looking to start or build upon their Paralegal career in our growing 
Recovery and Restructuring
practice on a full-time permanent basis.

In this role, you'll handle and manage a diverse portfolio of files in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are alike. You'll work closely with the lawyers in the team, with a strong focus on compliance and quality assurance

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Work with major bank and non-bank lenders on secured and unsecured recovery matters.
  • Work with major auto financiers on preparing their floor plan funding and security documents.
  • Drafting agreements and progressing matters through the relevant courts.
  • Liaising with ASIC to fulfill lender obligations under the Corporations Act.
  • Responsibility of file management from start to finish.
  • Preparing and issuing legal documents, including demands, notices and court documents.
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients/first point of contact.
  • Responsibility and operation of wide range of insolvency files, maintaining regular verbal and written correspondence with insolvency practitioners, defaulting customers, liquidators and other related stakeholders on behalf of secured lenders.

What You'll Need to Succeed

You will be extremely well organised, with excellent drafting skills and close attention to detail. The role requires handling a high volume of matters while keeping work consistently up to date. The right candidate will have the ability to prioritise and handle time-sensitive work.

You will enjoy working in a friendly team environment with supportive partners and on-the-job training to help you succeed. You should be self-motivated and driven, with a professional outlook, confident phone manner, and the ability to manage sensitive conversations under pressure.

Career paralegal experience and asset recoveries experience is desirable. 
Law students should only apply if they have
2 years (or more)
remaining in their degree.
