About this opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Communications and Philanthropy Officer and working within a team of 13, the Community Fundraising and Events Manager will:

• lead the community fundraising and events strategy, driving engagement, awareness and revenue
• build and manage community fundraising programs, establishing strong relationships and identifying new funding opportunities
• oversee a calendar of events, working with a highly-capable events coordinator
• lead volunteer engagement and a new community ambassador program
• plan and create marketing materials to support and promote events and fundraising
• identify and cultivate relationships with community groups, individuals, and organisations
• accurately report on community fundraising, engagement and events; tracking budgets and impact metrics
• ensure a meaningful and inclusive supporter experience.

Making the most of the opportunity to shape a relatively new portfolio, you'll build an impactful community fundraising strategy and establish key relationships to support the organisation's ongoing growth goals.

This role has 2 direct reports — events and community engagement.

About you

You have a strong sense of initiative, and you're ready to make this role your own, exercising a high degree of accountability and self-motivation.

You're an excellent written and verbal communicator, and you're confident engaging with diverse individuals and perspectives to establish meaningful relationships.

You're both a leader and a doer. You're excited by the opportunity to lead by example and be part of the team.

You're a fantastic problem solver, always looking for ways to reshape, redirect and guide operations in a powerful new direction.

You bring a background in community fundraising or another area of relational fundraising, and you know what it takes to build robust fundraising programs.

You hold a current Queensland driver's license, and you're willing to travel on occasion.
