Mendi Constructions is seeking an experienced and driven Logistics Operations Manager to lead and optimise transport operations. With a versatile fleet that includes truck and dogs, side tippers, road trains, concrete agitators, and heavy haulage vehicles, this leadership role is critical to ensuring efficient and safe transport services across all Doyle Group businesses.

You'll work closely with the Raw Materials Manager, Concrete Plant Manager, and Site Project Managers and Supervisors to deliver efficient, safe, and cost-effective transport solutions — while inspiring a skilled team of transport professionals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the transport fleet with a focus on safety, compliance, and cost-efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to HVNL, Mass and Maintenance Management procedures
  • Lead and inspire the transport team to achieve optimal fleet utilisation and productivity
  • Provide detailed monthly P&L reports to the Managing Director
  • Coordinate and delegate transport activities between in-house and subcontractor fleets
  • Track and report daily on fleet allocation and utilisation
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Strategically innovate and improve fleet operations, including the assessment and implementation of new vehicles
  • Collaborate with all levels of management to drive continuous improvement

About You:

  • Extensive experience in transport/logistics in a leadership or management role
  • Strong working knowledge of HVNL, Mass and Maintenance Management standards
  • Hold a Queensland MC Licence
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff across a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • A solid grasp of the financial implications of operational decisions
  • A high regard for safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to adapt quickly to change
  • A resilient, solutions-focused attitude
