About the role:

Council is seeking an application from an enthusiastic, experienced and suitably qualified person to join our team as the Community Development Officer.

The Community Development Officer is responsible for working across the Loddon Shire with internal and external stakeholders to achieve broader community development objectives by:

· coordinating the design, implementation and evaluation of priority initiatives, programs and projects that strengthen community engagement, participation, social inclusion and capacity building in rural townships

· providing specialist advice and guidance to Community Planning groups, guiding alignment with Council's Community Planning Framework and application of best practice approaches to community development

· guiding communities to plan, review and update their community plans through structured and sustainable processes that foster ownership and accountability for local outcomes

· coordinating multi-stakeholder community initiatives, ensuring projects are community-led, and Council-supported to achieve intended outcomes.

This position is permanent, full-time position, working 38 hours a week with a salary range of $89, $97,414.20 per annum pro-rata plus employer superannuation.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

· a degree or diploma in Community Engagement, Community Development, or a related discipline, with relevant professional experience

· demonstrated experience in community planning, implementing and reviewing initiatives aligned with strategic objectives and experience working with rural communities

· experience in using office computer systems, digital engagement tools and software relevant to project management and community development reporting

· experience in delivering community focused projects or programs including stakeholder engagement, reporting and evaluation of outcomes
