The Role
The Leadership Specialist (Engagement Manager) will play a critical role in supporting the delivery and execution of key account management plans for priority client accounts. This role is primarily responsible for supporting and driving the development of Platinum Accounts and, on a selective basis, the strategic development of select key accounts that have been identified has having near term Platinum account status.
Leadership Specialists are experienced individuals who support high-quality delivery of consulting services to the firm's new and existing clients. Additionally, they will play a key role in internal thought leadership and firm building efforts. Consulting work includes deliverable creation, program management, and client interface opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Working in close partnership with the Relationship Lead, Consultants, Engagement Coordinators and Project Coordinators (PCs), the Leadership Specialist (Engagement Manager) serves as a strategic liaison between RRA and key account contacts to ensure quality client development and management and also project management.
In partnership with the Relationship Lead and team, the role will deliver:
Client management
- Proactively anticipate and serve client needs to secure the long term relationship
- Invest in key activities that will drive the future growth of the client, deepen our relationship with them and fend off opportunities for the competition.
- Drive the creation of activities that will embed RRA with the client at scale – such as i) the development of materials required to drive success at scale (such as bespoke client assessment reports, coaching tools and the like), ii) undertaking analysis and think pieces for proactive client engagement and presentation at quarterly client meetings, iii) the gathering of and development of insight to further foster our value add to the client and the development of business development events and collateral to harness the value of the insights.
- Proactively track the pipeline of Potential New Business and Engagement Letters with the client. Attend key client meetings to assist with the ongoing development of new assignments.
Project Management
- Take a whole of account view of the delivery of key projects and the necessary upskilling and preparation of resources at scale to deliver the assignments.
- Work with the engagement coordinators to ensure that key resources are locked in for key projects and key steps for project implementation are tracked and delivered, escalating issues to the Lead Consultant as required.
- Develop associated materials for key projects to set the consulting delivery team up for success such as client and assignment briefing packs and sessions.
- Capture insights from large projects across multiple consultants and data sets to assist with the development of group reporting and the like.
- Take a lead role in gathering information and reviewing projects for future learning and enhancements. Use as a basis for future projects, including resource considerations (future affiliate needs by example).
Account management
- Take a lead role in tracking and analyzing our performance with client account - account coverage, necessary skills and experience and other needs and provide recommendations and build a plan for implementation. Track plan and drive its success.
- Participate in broader account development meetings across the entire account team (search and consulting) and identify opportunities for improvement, particularly with respect to how consulting can further improve our search relationships and impact with the client.
- Work with Knowledge and other colleagues in RRA to bring our broader intelligence and insight to the account team.
Client Delivery Support
- Assist in the designing and structuring of surveys or other data gathering tools for client projects (e.g. team effectiveness surveys, culture and inclusion diagnostics)
- Administering surveys using recognized survey tools (e.g. Qualtrics) and managing / organized associated datasets
- Creating standard presentations and survey analysis reports
Firm and Business Development Responsibilities
- Supporting proposal development for new client opportunities, relating to Platinum Accounts and the growth of identified accounts to Platinum accounts.
- Lead work plans in partnership with Consultants to deliver effective client development plans for identified accounts, including:
- Designing and implementing the plan tailored to unique needs and timelines of each client
- Identifying key priorities and strategic opportunities for account growth
- Planning assessment and client delivery timelines
- Supporting business development initiatives for key accounts
- Coordinate across internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution of account strategies.
- Facilitate regular account reviews
Periodic travel may be required for this role.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in relevant field. Masters/PhD advantageous. Examples of relevant fields include Psychology (industrial, organizational, clinical, behavioral sciences), Humanities (e.g., history, politics, sociology, anthropology), Organizational Development, Leadership.
- A background in Psychology is preferred
- 2-4 years' experience in a strategy or organization/management consulting firm with a focus on areas such as change management, organizational transformation, people development, or similar
- Experience working in a global professional services matrixed environment, including managing competing priorities and client demands
- Additional experience in a talent management position in a large organization is advantageous
