Upper Mount Gravatt, Queensland, Australia Eiwa Energy Technology Full time $250,000 - $500,000 per year

1. The Opportunity

We are a dynamic and rapidly scaling Australian renewable energy developer. The company has a significant development pipeline of over 3GW in solar, wind, and storage projects across Australia. We are also quickly scaling up our operation in the Japanese market focusing on the battery storage projects.

Beyond our core development business, we are executing an ambitious vertical integration strategy to expand into high-growth technology markets. This includes launching a new business line for BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and inverter products. This new division is supported by a strategic partnership with a leading international manufacturer, with a clear roadmap to establish "Australia made" manufacturing capabilities.

This dual-pronged growth requires a world-class Group CFO. The appointee will be a key architect of the group's future, responsible for securing the significant and complex funding required to simultaneously scale a capital-intensive project pipeline and a high-growth technology/product business.

This is a rare opportunity for a commercially-minded, strategic, and "hands-on" leader to build and finance a next-generation, integrated renewable energy and technology group.

2. Position Summary

The Group CFO is a critical executive leadership role, acting as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the entire financial stewardship of the group, encompassing capital raising (both project and corporate finance), investment strategy, M&A execution, and building a high-performance finance function.

This role demands a leader with a proven track record in raising substantial capital and a deep understanding of complex financial structures. They must be equally comfortable negotiating multi-hundred-million-dollar project finance facilities as they are securing corporate/venture funding for a new technology business.

3. Key Responsibilities

Capital Strategy & Corporate Finance:

  • Design and execute the group's comprehensive capital raising strategy, securing significant debt and equity for both business divisions.
  • Lead project financing activities for the 3GW+ development pipeline (e.g., development capital, construction finance).
  • Lead corporate financing activities for the BESS/inverter product division (e.g., growth equity, R&D and government grants).
  • Cultivate and manage deep relationships with a diverse range of capital providers, including domestic and international banks, infrastructure funds, private equity, venture capital, and family offices.

Strategy, M&A & Investment:

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO on all major business initiatives, providing robust financial modelling, analysis, and commercial advice.
  • Lead the financial evaluation of all investment decisions, including new projects (FID) and new market entries.
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute M&A opportunities (acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships) from financial due diligence through to valuation and post-merger integration.
  • Oversee the financial and commercial aspects of the company's strategic manufacturing partnerships, including the "Australia made" initiative.

Financial Leadership & Operations:

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing group finance team, establishing a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, treasury, and group reporting.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and management reports to the Board and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement scalable financial systems, processes, and internal controls to support rapid growth.

4. Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven Track Record in Capital Raising: Demonstrable (quantifiable) success in raising substantial capital (both debt and equity) in a complex environment.
  • M&A and Investment: Deep, transaction-based experience in M&A, investment analysis, valuation, and financial due diligence.
  • Leadership: 15+ years of progressive financial experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., CFO, Head of Finance, Head of M&A/Investment).
  • Strategic & Commercial Mindset: An ability to think beyond pure finance and act as a commercial co-pilot to the business.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build consensus and represent the company compellingly to investors, lenders, and the Board.
  • Technical Skills: Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.

Highly Desirable:

  • Dual-Sector Experience: Experience in one or both of the following:

  • Renewable Energy/Infrastructure: Project finance, energy markets, and infrastructure development.

  • Technology/Manufacturing: Corporate finance, supply chain, and working capital management for a high-growth hardware or product business.
  • Australian Market: Deep knowledge of the Australian financial, regulatory, and renewable energy landscape.
  • Qualifications: CA/CPA, CFA, or an MBA from a top-tier institution.
  • Growth Environment: Experience in a high-growth, developer-led, or start-up environment where they have had to be "hands-on" and build functions from the ground up.
