Flourish Community Solutions has casual opportunities for Youth workers and family support workers across the Bundaberg area.
The opportunity requires working directly with families in their own homes and communities, supporting them in scheduled family contact, and assisting with reconnecting the family. Note this is not residential out-of-home care or disability support work.
Various shift rotations are available. We are specifically looking for those with weekend availability, and only experienced workers need to apply. We work under the SCHADS award, and weekend rates apply, making this an attractive opportunity.

Flourish Community Solutions provides intensive family support, parent mentoring, and early intervention solutions to young people and families in need. Working alongside families and young people wherever they are in their journey, with a focus on keeping families together safely.

Your Opportunity:
In this role, you will facilitate individualised support to achieve sustainable change in families with complex needs, whilst working alongside the family to prevent a family from entering or re-entering the statutory child protection system.
You must be personable, caring, and have a genuine passion for helping others. Direct work with families and young people is a must, and you will be required to guide, mentor, and facilitate their development, implement support strategies, connect them to services and community, support and guide them in safe behaviour or safe parenting, mental health support and drive their intervention journey forward with them at the forefront.
Key outcome requirements:
- Providing specialist therapeutic intervention to children and families experiencing child protection issues and direct youth support, working with mental health, DFV, AOD, Neurodiverse, and complex behaviours may be required.
- Assistance to access community connections and education in parenting upskilling and psychosocial support is required. The ability to manage, mitigate, and report risk
- Transportation to appointments or contact arrangements may be required
- Engage with families and young people, explore mutual obligations, complete required forms, and develop collaborative goals from a strengths-based, child-centred, family-focused practice framework
- Provide early intervention-focused services, support families to strengthen the care and protection of children living at home, strengthen parenting practices, and increase the safety and well-being of the family, using the existing care plan.
- Respect and seek cultural advice to ensure client families have access to a range of culturally safe support options, where appropriate.
Requirements for Success
Qualifications:
Cert 4 or Diploma level in Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, DFV, Social Welfare, and Family Intervention.
Higher-level applicants welcome
- Experience in implementing therapeutic interventions with young people and/or families.
- Understanding of Child Protection legislation and child protection concerns and risk factors, problem solvers
