About You

- ✅ Hold a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Social Work or similar (or be studying towards)

- ✅ Australian Drivers Licence (P2 or higher)

- ✅ Blue card & Yellow card

- ✅ Current First Aid & CPR certificate

- ✅ 3 months paid experience with transferrable skills - disability support, youth work etc.

- ✅ The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required

To qualify, you must be willing to enrol or currently be enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field.

About the Position

As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. Working with some of Australia’s best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives, in a nurturing and safe environment.

Our rosters are done in advance, which grants you some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.

Responsibilities

- Establish a secure and nurturing home environment for at-risk youngpeople

- Offer guidance and support with personal care requirements including meal assistance and hygieneroutines

- Provide transportation for school, appointments and communityactivities

- Foster the development of skills and socialisation within the local community, alongside promoting positive pro-social peerinteractions

- Support in the administration of medications and associated reporting requirements for children on Child Protection orders

- Provide trauma-informed care to young people who display complex behavioural issues and traumaticbackgrounds

- Engage in the Trauma Recovery practice framework and undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within the first three months of your employment
