About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to lead our small team in Goondiwindi. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of our transport, waste services, and Containers for Change depot. You'll be keeping things running smoothly — from managing drivers and schedules to ensuring compliance, safety, and customer service are all on point.

How you'll do this

  • Lead and support a small team of drivers and operational staff
  • Oversee daily logistics and waste collection runs to ensure efficiency and reliability
  • Set up and manage vehicle maintenance programs
  • Manage compliance with NHVR, Truck Safe and DETSI and other industry regulations
  • Promote a strong safety culture and oversee site HSE requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders
  • Liaise with customers to create quotes and work with team members to provide information and/or submit tenders
  • Monitor operational performance and look for ways to improve processes
  • Pitch in where needed to keep things moving

About You

You're someone who knows the transport industry and understands what it takes to keep a small, busy operation running safely and efficiently. You might not have managed a site before, but you've led teams, understand compliance, and know how to keep people and trucks moving in the right direction.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience in transport, waste, logistics or a related industry
  • A current HC licence (MC licence would be a bonus)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Hands on, a practical, down-to-earth approach and a willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Good understanding of NHVR and HSE requirements
