The OpportunityWe're seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and ensure excellence in care across our residential and home care services.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Nursing will oversee all clinical operations, including Home Care, CNs, RNs, ENs, PCAs and other direct care staff. This role plays a vital part in ensuring Kaloma continues to deliver exceptional, person-centred aged care that meets and exceeds the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage and support the clinical team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
- Oversee compliance with the Aged Care Act, Quality of Care Principles and Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Implement and monitor clinical policies, continuous improvement initiatives, and risk management systems.
- Act as a communication channel between the CEO, staff, residents, families, and external agencies.
- Manage staffing structures, rosters, recruitment, and professional development in consultation with HR and management teams.
- Ensure effective use of clinical resources and contribute to strategic and operational planning.
- Represent Kaloma professionally within the community and at meetings with health professionals and partner organisations.
You're an experienced and compassionate nursing leader who thrives in a collaborative, values-driven environment. You'll bring both clinical excellence and strong leadership to this role, guiding your team to deliver exceptional care every day.
Essential:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Proven leadership experience in aged care or a similar healthcare setting
- In-depth knowledge of aged care legislation, standards and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and mentor a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to person-centred care, cultural awareness, and resident choice
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or ability to obtain
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in Aged Care, Health Management or Leadership
- Experience managing both residential and community-based aged care services
- Lead a trusted, community-based aged care service in beautiful Goondiwindi
