Primary objective

Lead the development and implementation of robust performance management and improvement processes for the

Northern Territory (NT) health system. The position will manage a range of strategic projects to deliver outcomes that

support improved performance outcomes for NT health services.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Coordinate and conduct analysis of large and complex clinical datasets to provide strategic advice to improve

performance outcomes for NT Health.

  1. Prepare high quality correspondence, briefs, meeting papers, presentations, planning documents and reports for clinical,

executive, ministerial or committee consideration.

  1. Undertake stakeholder management to build and sustain effective relationships with a range of internal and external

stakeholders to help drive NT Health performance, including identification of priority areas requiring remediation.

  1. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant performance frameworks and management methodologies, as well as

emerging issues within a changing and politically sensitive environment.

  1. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being

undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. Foster a positive workplace culture through

exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated high level problem solving and critical thinking skills, with proven ability to identify emerging issues and

exercise sound judgement to develop robust solutions and recommendations.

2. Demonstrated ability to undertake complex data analysis relevant to supporting performance improvement outcomes.

3. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks, deliver quality projects, and meet deadlines while leading a small

team.

  1. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of preparing high quality

documents and presenting information to a variety of audiences.

5. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management to build and sustain relationships with a diverse range of internal

and external stakeholders such as Commonwealth, state and territory jurisdictions, health services administrators and

clinicians.

Desirable

1. Recognised tertiary qualification in data science, information management, health informatics or similar.

2. Working knowledge of frontline healthcare environment, including hospital and primary care settings.
