Our Centre

At Westcare Early Learning Centre we value each child's individuality, strengths, knowledge and interests, and extend on these by providing a child-centred program based on the Montessori Approached and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Westcare Early Learning Centre provides a holistic educational program that is structured around the Montessori Curriculum areas including,

  • Practical Life
  • Sensory experiences
  • Mathematics
  • Culture
  • Language

through making good choices guided by the Educators. We recognise the diverse cultural background of children, families and staff. We believe in treating everyone with dignity, respect and equity regardless of their culture, religion, race or background.

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold a qualification (Bachelor of Education) Early childhood or hold an ACECQA approved teaching qualification.
  • Montessori qualification is preferred but not required (Mentoring on site available)
  • Experience in the Early years Learning industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of NQF and previous implementation of EYLF
  • Current Approved qualifications for child protection, First aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
  • WWC Check.

Your Role:

  • Contribute to a harmonious, professional and positive collegiate culture
  • Be a dynamic, flexible, hands-on Educator working in a team environment
  • Be able to plan and implement lessons and experiences based on the Montessori Early Years Learning Framework (MEYLF), connecting it to the EYLF, and recording observations for the children's profiles
  • Produce individual learning plans for each child
  • Plan and implement a school reediness program
  • A high standard of verbal and written communication skills in English is essential.
