HSEQ Operational Lead

We are looking for a HSEQ Operational Lead to join the team in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of HSEQ, you will spend 75% of your time on CIP Constructions Project Sites working on upskilling our staff and contractors to improve systems with a focus on SWMS and High Risk work activity compliance.

As the HSEQ Operational Lead you will be responsible for:

• Complete internal / external audits, investigations and incidents, and champion improvements as required by the Head of HSEQ.
• Support Operational staff in completion of site inspections and peer audits ensuring consistency in standards on all sites.
• Work with HSEQ System Lead to stay ahead of regulations and manage safety systems across all sites and locations in which CIP operates. Apply legislation requirements to the development of the HSEQ Management System.
• Support Operational staff with the development of HSEQ Management Plans against CIP Constructions and Client requirements.
• Support Operational staff in the development of Actions Plans/ITPs ensuring the details are compliant with business requirements, legislative requirements and Australian Standards.
• Complete investigations for all MTI, LTI, RWC and Fatalities that occur in a timely manner and present incident outcomes and recommendations to COO, Head of HSEQ and State Manager.
• Develop and deliver the onboarding and training of HSEQ operational staff.
• Work with Head of HSEQ, HSEQ Systems Lead and Operational staff to maintain certifications such as AS/NZS, ISO, OFSC and any other relevant certifications.

As the ideal applicant you will possess:

• A minimum Cert IV OHS qualification
• A current ISO Lead Auditing Certification
• ICAM or Taproot Investigation Training
• Significant prior experience in a safety focused role within the commercial construction industry, preferably within the Industrial sector
• Proficiency with automated safety management systems such as 1BreadCrumb, Hammertech, etc.
• An effective communicator and relationship builder
• An understanding of how to drive, develop and maintain safety behaviours
