Our client and their requirements:
We have partnered with a local council in the Southern Tablelands and looking to find an A1 Human Resources Manager
Provide support in managing the Council strategically by implementing strategies, plans, and programs to achieve the Operational Plan and Delivery Program. Additionally, provide human resources, work health safety, and environment information and guidance.
Your core duties & responsibilities will include:
- Deliver services and functions of business unit portfolios according to legislation and plans.
- Translate principal activities into plans, programs, and projects to achieve KPIs.
- Manage, support, develop, and guide staff to enhance service quality and responsiveness.
- Provide advice and systems for effective workforce leadership, HR management, risk management, and employee engagement.
- Implement systems for statutory compliance and risk management to maintain trust.
- Establish and maintain communication systems for information distribution and feedback.
- Maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Develop and update Council's organisational structure and report on establishment.
- Provide accurate and timely guidance to the Manex Team.
- Manage resources efficiently to deliver principal activities.
- Ensure compliant systems for employment records.
- Conduct research and prepare reports for decision-making.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and an agile, accountable culture.
- Hold employees accountable for maintaining a safe workplace.
What you will need to succeed :
Essential
- Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Management, or equivalent.
- Experience in employment legislation, industrial awards, and delivery of WHS&E and Human Resources services.
- Ability to work constructively with management and the workforce to implement WHS&E and HR policies and systems.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.
- Strong communication, influencing, negotiation, research, information analysis, and report writing skills.
- Experience in leading, developing, and supporting staff to achieve work objectives.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Understanding of salary systems, job evaluation systems, and their administration.
- Knowledge and experience in local government.
