*Role Purpose:*
As our Accounts Assistant (or Accounts Receivable & Payable Officer), you'll be at the heart of our Finance team, keeping our financial transactions running smoothly. You'll help manage invoices, payments, reconciliations and reports, while supporting the Leader of Finance to ensure everything adds up perfectly.
Accounts Receivable:
What You'll Be Doing:
- Send out invoices and make sure our customers pay on time.
- Keep track of overdue accounts and follow up professionally.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger because accuracy is everything
- Prepare regular reports for management so everyone knows where things stand.
Accounts Payable:
- Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.
- Ensure payments are authorised and in line with company policies.
- Keep the accounts payable ledger neat and accurate.
- Help prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.
General Finance Support:
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
- Support the Finance team with ad hoc projects and tasks.
- Keep our financial records organised and up to date.
- Suggest and implement improvements to make our processes even better.
*Skills & Competencies:*
- Strong numerical and analytical skills (numbers are your friends).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Comfortable with accounting software (Xero, MYOB, etc.) and Excel wizardry.
- Able to juggle multiple priorities without breaking a sweat.
- Fun, dynamic and personable, with a proactive, team first mindset and a love of engaging and collaborating with others.
- High integrity and confidentiality because trust is everything.
*Qualifications & Experience:*
- 2–3 years' experience in accounts receivable/accounts payable or general accounting.
- Certificate IV in Accounting, Bookkeeping or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment preferred.
