Job Summary

This role is part of a firefighting program where you will respond to fire and emergency incidents as a member of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents in a safe and effective manner.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities.
  • Develop and maintain competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses.
  • Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
  • Operate specialist firefighting equipment safely and effectively.
Requirements
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • Manual C Class driver's licence.
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of an auxiliary fire station.
  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies.
Accountabilities
  • Promote a positive team approach in all work activities.
  • Comply with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel and the general community.

The ideal candidate will have leadership skills and exemplify shared values such as respect, integrity, trust, courage and loyalty.
