We specialise in palliative care, aged and dementia care, mental health services for older people, rehabilitation and other related health and aged care services. The Assistant in Nursing works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure safe, effective, quality patient care.

About the role

Applications are invited from an experienced and skilled Assistant in Nursing to join our team. You will be a part of a highly dedicated team that provides the best patient-centred care for Palliative patients.

This permanent part-time 3 days per week opportunity will be in our Palliative ward located at Neringah Hospital in Wahroonga. We offer applicants a stimulating workplace and a supportive team environment within the unit. Our staff are valued members of the multi-disciplinary team and are encouraged to participate in all learning and development activities.

About you
  • Second-year student in Bachelor of Nursing with a desire to work in a palliative care ward, or Certificate III in Healthcare with at least one year's relevant experience.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment
