Field Safety Officer

Location: Adelaide, Port Augusta, Whyalla, or Port Pirie

We are currently seeking a proactive and dedicated Field Safety Officer to support our operations across multiple regional sites. This role will play a critical part in continuing to promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across various project locations.
  • Provide on-site safety guidance to operational teams.
  • Support the development and review of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and related documentation
  • Assist in investigating incidents and ensuring corrective actions are identified, delegated and closed out promptly
  • Develop safety awareness programs and roll out via regular toolbox talks.
  • Attend regular toolbox meetings and ongoing training initiatives.
  • Develop and communicate safety briefs to assist continuing learning of our teams in regards to safety compliance and best practice
  • Assist in preparing reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Integrated Management System.

About You

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in a field-based safety role, preferably within heavy industry environments.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, hazard identification, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel between sites, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Current driver's licence and the ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing.
