Looking for talented Senior ETL Developers to join a Victorian State Government project.

Your new company

Victorian government's top statutory authority is looking for a Developer to be part of their Product Delivery Team for a long term contract.

Your new role

As a seasoned Developer with strong technical and soft skills, your key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct data analysis and cleansing
  • Perform source system data structure analysis and data profiling
  • Perform data modelling as required
  • Test, package and deploy the ETL solution
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to ETL framework and data mapping
  • Train other team members in the use of the ETL framework
  • Mass loading of extracts of order texts.
  • Release management - maintain multiple code baselines (development, test and production)
  • Assist with the design of the data migration environment and perform infrastructure capacity and capability planning
  • Liaise with PAAS providers to optimize environment
  • Act as the technical liaison with the Vendor's technical data migration resources
  • Create back-ups of databases.
  • Perform DBA activities such as managing users, query optimisation, monitor database space etc

What you'll need to succeed

You'll need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You'll also need:

  • Demonstrable experience of similar roles in large-scale data migration projects, preferably within Victorian Government or similar environments
  • Demonstrated abilityto develop technical and solution documentation
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft based ETL architecture and infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse EXPLAIN_PLAN and perform query optimisation
  • Expert knowledge using PowerShell & Python
  • 7+ years with ETL tools, including Microsoft SSDT-SSIS (would be highly regarded)
  • Expert experience writing T-SQL code and knowledge of advanced SQL programming concepts
  • Experience with implementing advance data migration automation e.g. notifications (SQL Mail Agent, Alerts and Scheduled SSIS package deployment)
  • Ability to develop custom data flow components and/or scripting to solve complex problems
  • Expert knowledge and experience with Database Mirroring and Replication concepts
  • Experience of working with ADABAS data sources will be highly regarded
  • Experience with migration to cloud-based platforms such as MS Azure will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of environment management or infrastructure (Azure) would be highly regarded.
