Position Information

Warragamba Public School, situated on Gundungurra land between Macarthur and Penrith. Our school serves 470 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, including a new support unit comprising of two Multi-Categorical support classes and an Autism support class.

Warragamba Public School is deeply committed to inclusive education, utilising a comprehensive Learning and Support process. Our Assistant Principal Welfare and Wellbeing and the learning support team work closely with students, families, and external agencies to ensure student-centered planning, differentiated teaching, and tailored adjustments are in place for every learner.

Selection Criteria
  1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, mild intellectual disabilities, students impacted by trauma and those with complex learning and behaviour needs.

  2. Proven success in building the capacity of staff to implement whole-school inclusive practices that enhance learning and wellbeing outcomes for students with disabilities and complex needs.

  3. Proven capacity to inspire and support staff whilst balancing classroom teaching and the complex administrative role of being a leadership team member at Warragamba Public School.

  4. Strong capability to lead and develop evidence-based, evaluative, and differentiated teaching and learning programs, including the design, implementation, and review of individualised plans that enhance engagement, wellbeing, and achievement for every learner.

General Selection Criteria
  1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
