About the Role:

CAPDA Consulting is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Assistant Project Manager
to support the delivery of a cutting-edge Defence capability. This role sits within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project team focused on delivering complex systems to enhance operational effectiveness and protect deployed personnel and assets.

You will work closely with senior project leadership to manage documentation, coordinate procurement activities, support contract negotiations, and contribute to strategic planning and risk management. The role requires a proactive individual capable of navigating Defence processes and collaborating across technical, commercial, and logistics domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Integrated Project Manager in managing scope, schedule, and budget to ensure timely delivery of capability.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing solicitation documentation including Statements of Work, Conditions of Tender, and project briefs.
  • Participate in tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Contribute to risk workshops and mitigation planning to support successful project outcomes.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and reports to support decision-making.
  • Maintain progress reporting and documentation in line with Defence standards and templates.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in project support or coordination within Defence or complex government environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with Defence procurement and project management frameworks is highly desirable.
  • NV2 clearance preferred; NV1 accepted with willingness to upgrade due to project requirements.
