Junior Occupational Hygiene Officer

West Leederville, WA - Full-Time (40 hrs/week) - 9-Day Fortnight Option

We are seeking a motivated Junior Occupational Hygiene Officer to support our growing team in West Leederville, with fieldwork across metropolitan and regional WA. This is a hybrid, office and field-based role ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a passion for health and safety, and a desire to develop in the Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous materials space.

What You'll Do

You will work alongside experienced hygienists to:

  • Carry out field sampling and inspections for airborne contaminants, asbestos, noise, vibration, gas, water, mould, and indoor air quality, including associated site clearances.
  • Conduct respirator and ear fit testing
  • Site safety inspections
  • Workplace safety compliance inspections
  • Calibrate and maintain field monitoring instruments
  • Assist in statutory monitoring programs
  • Support data entry, analysis, and reporting
  • Liaise with clients and team members to support effective project delivery

We operate flexibly 7 days a week to meet client needs. While your base is in West Leederville, ad-hoc regional travel and occasional weekend work are expected. Overnight allowances and all required PPE and equipment are provided.

Essential:

  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Strong working knowledge of OHS legislation, codes, and standards.

  • Relevant Qualifications such as in Occupational Hygiene, Chemistry, Science, Nursing/Medical and /or Environmental disciplines

  • Full C Class Driver's Licence
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (WHS) or similar
  • Ability to pass a federal police clearance and drug & alcohol screening
  • Interest in or exposure to occupational hygiene, hazardous materials and environmental monitoring.

Preferred:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed an undergraduate degree in STEM Field

Additional training and development will be provided, with structured support for growing into and achieving industry certifications such as becoming a Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA), Mines air quality officer (MAQO), Noise Officer, Audiometric Officer, AIOH membership and more.
