  • Senior Executive Band 1, Total Remuneration Package between $255,878 - $280,824
  • Temporary up to June 2026, based in Sydney CBD

About the role:

As Director, Portfolio Data, you will lead the transformation of how data is defined, collected and used across our diverse portfolio. You'll bring consistency to data practices, improve performance measurement, and deliver insights that support evidence-based decisions at all levels.

  • lead the development and implementation of a cohesive portfolio-wide data strategy
  • engage stakeholders from across the portfolio to define KPIs, understand and align data collection methods, and uplift performance reporting

  • identify data assets, gaps and inconsistencies across agencies, and drive collaborative approaches to resolve them

About you:

You're a strategic data leader with the rare ability to balance strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement. You bring deep experience in the design, delivery and governance of large-scale data strategies, and know how to apply both quantitative and qualitative insights to support high-impact decision-making.

Equally important is your ability to build trusted relationships. You understand the priorities and perspectives of senior leaders, and can translate complex technical concepts into clear, outcome-focused advice that drives alignment and results. Your strength lies in connecting people, data and purpose.

You bring:

  • Proven success in leading enterprise-wide or cross-sector data initiatives
  • Strong data literacy and performance measurement capabilities, paired with the communication skills to drive alignment across diverse senior stakeholders
  • A collaborative, pragmatic approach to navigating complex organisational landscapes
  • Government or regulated industry experience is helpful but not essential, your ability to understand, assess and improve data environments is what matters most

You know that real impact comes from more than technical solutions, it's about bringing people on the journey and building systems that last.

How to Apply:

Your application must include a cover letter and an up-to-date resume that details your capabilities and experience in relation to the above role.
