Nursery Hand

Nursery Hand . This hands-on role involves supporting the daily operations of the nursery, including propagation, potting, watering, order preparation, client relations, administrative work and general maintenance. The ideal candidate will have basic plant knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to identify and work with a variety of plant species. Certificates are not required however are advantageous, we are happy to offer on site training and opportunities for upskilling if candidates are interested and willing to learn.

Set your own hours (minimum 16hrs per week)

Responsibilities;

• Assist with propagation, planting, watering, pruning, and general plant maintenance
• Loading and unloading trucks and deliveries
• Plant identification
• Weeding, pruning, and general plant maintenance
• Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe
• Using basic nursery equipment and tools
• Assisting with stocktake and inventory control
• Assisting with administration work
• Irrigation control and maintenance
• Support stocktaking, plant labelling, and nursery inventory management
• Perform basic administrative duties, including order processing, data entry, and maintaining plant records
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised nursery environment
• Assist customers and team members with plant selection and general enquiries
• Monitor plant health and report on pest or disease issues
• Participate in the fulfilment and preparation of plant orders for dispatch

Requirements;

• Basic horticultural or plant knowledge (formal qualifications not required but advantageous, can be taught if interested)
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Basic administrative and computer skills (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, email)
• Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Current driver's license/or reliable transportation to work

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $27.00 – $33.00 per hour
