This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Debt Market Services Division within Perpetual Corporate Trust (PCT) a specialist business within the Perpetual Group. About the Role
In this role you will have the opportunity to assist with the management of a diverse portfolio of clients and matters in Perpetual's Agency & Trustee business, where Perpetual acts as trustee of notes, facility agent and security trustee. You will be passionate about delivering exceptional client outcomes while ensuring continued compliance with transaction documents, Perpetual's policies and procedures, transaction documents, Corporation Act and other relevant laws and regulations.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Maintaining clients and external service providers relationships to ensure all reasonable requests are promptly responded to.
- Assisting with transactions including Facility Agent and Security Trustee roles, negotiations on documentation, minimising legal and operational risks, highlighting and obtaining clearance on onerous terms especially if they are inconsistent with Perpetual's standard requirements, and seek guidance from the Senior Manager, where required.
- Working with Operation team to facilitate payments, administer and monitor bank accounts where required.
- Monitoring diaries in the Client Connect system on a regular basis to ensure Perpetual Corporate Trust is executing its duties in a timely and appropriate manner and is compliant with all obligations.
- Liaising with external solicitors and the clients in connection with the performance of Agent and/or Trustee's duties and obligations.
- Reporting to Senior Management as soon as potentially adverse event is identified, and also formally on a periodic basis in accordance with Perpetual's policies.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as client billing and accounts payable/receivable.
- Assist Manager with the preparation and management of internal revenue, budgets and forecasts for client portfolio and business unit.
- Assisting other team members with projects or routine work required in Agency & Trustee business from time to time.
About you
This role is an excellent opportunity for a first mover (big 4 or mid-tier) to step into a highly analytical role, and we are also interested in hearing from people who have:
- Business / accounting / economics / finance / law degree
- Knowledge of the Australian debt capital markets and ongoing regulatory developments
- Minimum of 3 years work experience with exposure to debt markets or financial services industry, ideally working in insolvency, audit, business services or financial institution
- Previous experience within an accounting firm or financial institution would be preferable
- Understanding of the Australian Banking and payment system
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical mindset
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivots, v-lookups, complex formulas, VBA).
