About the role

Part time permanent position (4 days/week) commencing in January 2026. This position is based in either North Ryde, NSW or Perth, WA. Reporting directly to the General Manager Policy and Advocacy, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to national and state policy development across aged care, health and disability sectors
  • Researching, analysing and reporting on policy developments relevant to dementia
  • Consulting with people living with dementia, their families, carers and staff to inform policy positions
  • Preparing high-quality policy papers, submissions, presentations, and other strategic communication materials
  • Maintaining effective and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Representing the organisation at forums, networks and stakeholder meetings as required

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:

  1. A formal qualification in Public Health, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Politics, Social Work; or prior experience in dementia, consumer advocacy and health, aged care and/or disability policy.
  2. Demonstrated experience and understanding in the development of policy and project material including policy submissions,  and reports.
  3. Collaborates with others to remove barriers and break down silos.
  4. Builds, fosters and sustains relationships both internally and externally.
  5. Uses effective time management skills to plan, evaluate and organise work demands.
  6. Excellent communication skills, actively listens to others and responds with respect and understanding.
