About the role
The Senior Manager Insurance Delivery & Performance plays a pivotal role within the Insurance Delivery and Performance team at Cbus. This team is responsible for overseeing, managing, and assessing the performance of formal third-party arrangements to ensure regulatory compliance while driving efficiency, productivity, and innovation aligned with the Insurance team's strategic goals.
This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney and is offered as a 12 month MTC.
Working closely with Insurance Risk & Governance and Insurance Claims Operations, this role acts as a key conduit across the Insurance Operations business unit. It champions excellence in partner and Trustee performance and fosters continuous improvement in member experience and retention through innovation, collaboration, and data-driven insights.
Key Accountabilities
Partner Performance
- Oversight of third-party governance models to meet regulatory obligations
- Management and assessment of insurer performance against contractual obligations and strategic alignment
Team Productivity & Capability
- Identify and implement operational, process, and system improvements
- Drive productivity practices and provide SME input across Insurance Operations
- Lead the Training function, including development of training modules, skills matrices, and gap analyses at MUFG & Cbus
- Utilise advanced Insurance in Super technical expertise and SME knowledge to navigate complex issues and support strategic outcomes
Business Reporting and Planning
- Coordinate the Insurer's roadmap and prioritise the Insurance Operations Strategic Plan
- For continuous improvement initiatives/projects develop new or update existing SOPs, work instructions, collateral in collaboration with Governance & OversightSupport the development of Insurance Operations Strategic plans
- Support Trustee Board reporting and business case development for Work Intake Governance (WIG)
- Enhance insurance data and insights capabilities, especially around claims durations
- Leverage third-party services to improve member outcomes
Risk Management
- Collaborate on issue and incident management processes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and support the Fund's Insurance Strategy
- Review and update Archer KRIs and controls quarterly and annually
- Conduct risk assessments for process changes and ensure control implementation
Leadership
- Lead the Insurance Training, Continuous Improvement, and Data & Reporting teams
- Foster a high-performance culture through coaching and development
- Identify and pursue innovation opportunities through market and competitor analysis
Key Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in the leadership of insurance, projects, and market insights
- Operational leadership within the Insurance in Super ecosystem
- Strong member-focused approach and stakeholder engagement
- Strategic planning and execution capabilities
- Experience in SOP development
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Strong organisational, communication, and presentation skills
- Influencing, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Expertise in business insights and process optimisation
