Skills and Experience needed:

• You have specialist expertise in telecommunications and compliance, particularly in the telecommunications industry
• You have a strong understanding of the Telecommunications Act and other telecommunications related laws and regulations
• You have an understanding of the regulatory frameworks of OAIC, ACMA and the ACCC
• You have the ability to provide legal support on regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with telecommunications laws, industry codes and emerging digital platform regulations
• You have the ability to draft, review and negotiate telecommunications and compliance documentation
• You have the ability to provide comprehensive legal support to internal teams across all legal matters and compliance queries
• You have experience and an understanding of Australian privacy, data protection and cyber matters and advice
• You have the ability to support the implementation of frameworks to meet regulatory, legal and ISO requirements
• You have the ability to support business continuity, compliance management strategies and internal audit processes
• You are comfortable liaising with multiple internal stakeholders and teams
• You have the ability to manage external facing issues
• You have a minimum of 6 years' experience
• You have the ability to hit the ground running, work autonomously and prioritise
• You have the ability to travel, if required

As well as excellent legal experience you will need:

• The right to live and work in Australia (and be based here) and hold or be able to obtain a current practising certificate
• Willingness to engage with Ashurst via an Incorporated Legal Practice or casual employment
