Diesel Hydraulic Fitter Tradesperson - Pleystowe Mill

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor - Locomotives, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks for our fleet of locomotives, track maintenance mobile equipment and associated mechanical plant. You will be a key member of the Rolling Stock maintenance team, achieving targets in relation to safety, quality and productivity.

  • Relevant trade qualification (Diesel Fitter, Mechanical Fitter or Equivalent trade)
  • Manual Driver's License
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Ability to be self-motivated and organised
  • Must hold Full Working rights in Australia
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow in a supportive team environment.

The following additional skills will be highly regarded, and the successful applicant will either already hold the below qualifications/licences or be willing to obtain through training and assessment for competency:

  • Mobile Plant Maintenance
  • Hydraulic Equipment Maintenance / Troubleshooting
  • Gearbox, Transmission repairs and overhaul
  • Ability to weld and use lathe/milling machines
  • Basic Rigging, Forklift, Overhead and Mobile Crane
