We're looking for experienced Fitters (Mechanical, Diesel, Fitter & Turner) to join our team at the Mackay Component Rebuild Facility. This permanent, full-time role offers a Monday to Friday roster and the chance to work with world-class Caterpillar machinery.

What you'll be doing

As a valued Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will:

  • Rebuild, repair and maintain Caterpillar componentry to the highest standard.
  • Complete repairs and overhauls safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Carry out detailed inspections on all disassembled parts for reusability.
  • Accurately complete reports and paperwork for each rebuild or repair.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace at all times.
  • Work to daily overhaul schedules and production requirements.
  • Always promote and follow safe work practices.

About you

We're seeking dedicated tradespeople who bring:

  • Trade Qualification - Cert III Engineering (Automotive Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters, Fitter & Turners, Diesel Fitters, or Mechanical trades).
  • Post-trade mechanical fitting experience.
  • Component rebuild experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Computer literacy - SIS experience highly regarded.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid planning and organisational skills.
  • Availability for rotating day and afternoon shifts.
