About the Role
The Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer will provide comprehensive support for all public cloud and infrastructure activities across x86 platform architectures, encompassing a wide range of servers and operating systems within Deloitte. This role requires a deep understanding of hybrid cloud and infrastructure technologies, complemented by hands-on technical expertise. As an internal position, the primary focus is on supporting Deloitte Business Units in their pursuits and engagements, ensuring robust and reliable technology solutions. Additionally, the role contributes to the development and implementation of innovative cloud and infrastructure solutions, driving continuous improvement and technological advancement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The position will be focused on the following activities:
- Drive the development and enhancement of Deloitte's Hybrid Cloud infrastructure, with a focus on virtualised networking components.
- Lead complex issue resolution, conduct root cause analysis, and proactively identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
- Design and implement automation and orchestration solutions to optimise operational efficiency.
- Contribute significantly to the deployment and integration of Deloitte IT projects across the organisation.
- Support the maintenance of a secure, current IT environment, ensuring alignment with security standards and compliance requirements.
- Oversee and maintain IT infrastructure using established tools and methodologies to ensure consistent performance and reliability.
About the team
The ITS Cloud Technologies team supports the internal IT Infrastructure used by all Deloitte Staff, focusing on Servers, Cloud, Storage, and Data Centres. The ideal candidate will have extensive server virtualization and cloud experience. This position will require minimal travel. Partial telecommuting options are provided.

Required:
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience in a large, diverse server environment
- Technical proficiency, including systems experience, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and issue management in a multi-platform environment
- Strong knowledge of emerging IT solutions, industry trends, and progressive operations methodology
- Adaptability to rapidly changing technologies and environments
Preferred Skills:
- Proficient in Kubernetes deployment, management, and troubleshooting
- Knowledgeable in cloud native technologies and microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience with AI tools, frameworks, or model deployment
- Intermediate knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3, & VPC).
- Intermediate knowledge of the primary Azure services (Azure VM`s, AAD, Key Vault, Azure DNS, Blob Storage, ASR & VNet)
- Experience in API management, including tools such as Postman
- Experience with DevOps / Continuous Integration frameworks with configuration management tools such as Puppet (Chef, Salt, Docker also relevant).
- Deployment and operational expertise in Windows, Linux, and other Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Hyper-V, and KVM.
- Familiarity with software-defined networking technologies such as VMware NSX and CISCO ISE.
- Intermediate knowledge of VMware vRealize Automation (or similar).
- Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, load balancing, firewalling, and familiarity with DNS and IP management tools such as Infoblox
- Knowledge of VMWare, Cisco UCS, NetApp Systems, and other major vendors of infrastructure technology
- Experienced with automation and orchestration concepts/skills
- Knowledge of SAN technology
- Strong scripting abilities using Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, and Bash
- Knowledge of ITIL Practices
- Knowledge of project management methodology
- Ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast-paced and organizationally complex environment, to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology, and to lead and manage small projects
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
Desirable Skills:
- An advanced degree or specialised training in cloud architecture, with expertise in platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of big data and analytics solutions e.g, Databricks, and Hadoop environments
- Extensive experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Advanced knowledge in Kubernetes deployment, management, and troubleshooting
- SRE experience in large multi-cloud organisations
- FinOps experience
