Your new role

As a Cloud Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure—primarily within Microsoft Azure. Working within a skilled Infrastructure and Cloud team, you'll help deliver secure, scalable, and efficient cloud services that support critical operations.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on Azure experience who's ready to take the next step into more design-focused and strategic responsibilities. While senior-level tasks are part of the role, you'll be supported by a collaborative team and encouraged to grow your skills through continuous learning and improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deploying and managing Azure infrastructure components (compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring)
  • Supporting hybrid cloud integrations (Azure AD Connect, VPNs, network peering)
  • Designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates
  • Automating operational tasks using PowerShell or Python
  • Monitoring cloud workloads for performance, cost efficiency, and availability
  • Implementing cloud security controls aligned with best practices
  • Collaborating across IT teams to deliver reliable cloud-based services
  • Maintaining technical documentation and supporting change management processes
  • Staying current with Azure advancements and contributing to platform optimisation

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering
  • Proven experience deploying and managing Azure services in production environments
  • Familiarity with hybrid environments, Active Directory, Azure AD, and identity federation
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)
  • Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305) are highly desirable
