Solidco Constructions Pty Ltd is an emerging construction company based in Clyde North, Victoria. We specialise in residential construction and project management services. As the business grows, we are looking for a full-time Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of our business.

The base salary offered is $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily site operations for custom residential projects, ensuring progress aligns with project schedules and budgets.
  • Determine suitable construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
  • Draft and review architectural and structural drawings to provide technical input and resolve design discrepancies.
  • Manage procurement of building materials (timber, concrete, steel, fixtures, and finishes), negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and timely deliveries.
  • Prepare purchase orders, track material usage, and maintain accurate inventory records to avoid shortages or delays.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure construction works comply with Australian Standards, building codes, and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations.
  • Conduct quality inspections on materials and workmanship, addressing defects and non-compliance issues.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and verify completed works against project specifications.
  • Prepare and present site reports, progress updates, and cost tracking documentation to management.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and allocation of resources (labour, equipment, and materials).

Skills and experience expected include:

  • At least a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or higher qualification.
  • At least 1 year of work experience in civil engineering, preferably within residential construction.
  • Proficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar).
  • Knowledge of building regulations, Australian Standards, and council requirements.
  • Experience in project management and contract administration is desirable.
