About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineering Technician to join our team to assist in the planning, design, supervision, and execution of civil infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing technical drawings, performing laboratory and field testing, assisting with project inspections, and contributing to cost estimations to ensure projects are delivered to required quality, safety, and compliance standards.

This role is essential in applying and adapting engineering technologies to enhance the performance and quality of our construction and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare sketches, drawings, charts, and tabulations to support the design and planning of civil engineering works, including drainage, water supply, sewerage systems, roads, bridges, and related infrastructure.
  • Conduct and assist with laboratory testing, collect and analyse data from construction sites, and prepare technical reports to support engineering assessments.
  • Assist in the inspection, organisation, and supervision of civil engineering works to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, project timelines, and safety regulations.
  • Support the preparation of cost and quantity estimates for materials, labour, and equipment required for civil engineering projects.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to progress reporting.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate the smooth delivery of projects.

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, and practices.
  • Proficiency in technical drawing and use of relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Ability to perform fieldwork, laboratory testing, and data analysis.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with engineering standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (or working towards).
  • Experience in civil engineering design, drafting, or fieldwork is desirable but not essential for entry-level roles.

We offer:

Competitive salary in the range of $77,000 to $87,000per annum depending on experience.
