As Legal Procurement and Operations Principal, youll elevate the maturity of IAGs Legal function, delivering sustainable value across its third-party legal panel. This role blends procurement, business, and technical expertise with a strong knack for dataanalysing, reporting, and presenting insights to enable smarter legal sourcing decisions. Youll manage vendor and panel relationships and performance, lead governance, and implement a centralised spend management program. With a process-driven mindset, youll leverage AI, automation, and systems to enhance legal bill review, operational efficiency and outcomes. Your contribution will drive innovation, uplift service delivery, and ensure IAGs legal operations are data driven, systemised, and future-ready.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) preferred or Naarm (Melbourne).

What You'll Do

• Oversee performance, governance, and strategic sourcing of IAGs external law firms to ensure quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Partner with procurement teams to manage RFx processes, negotiate contracts, and implement alternative fee arrangements that deliver value.
• Use AI, automation, and analytics to review legal spend, monitor performance, and support informed decision-making across the business.
• Identify and lead initiatives that improve legal service delivery, streamline processes, and uplift efficiency.
• Build trusted partnerships with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring transparency, alignment, and shared outcomes.
• Support legal tech adoption, knowledge management, and continuous improvement to future-proof legal operations.
• Tertiary qualifications in Technology, Business, Accounting, or Finance, and a pragmatic, collaborative approach to problem-solving.

What You'll Bring

• Proven strategic sourcing expertise, with a track record of leading transformation within Tier 1 financial institutions or law firms.
• Advanced supplier relationship management skills, including contract, commercial, and risk managementideally within legal category management.
• Strong project and change management capabilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and leveraging technology for productivity gains.
• Demonstrated success in driving enterprise-wide benefits through third-party partnerships and governance frameworks.
• Skilled in data analytics and reporting, with hands-on experience using tools like Power BI and Tableau to inform decision-making.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across complex matrix environments.
