What you will be doing:

As the Maintenance Manager in our food manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance function to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all plant and equipment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating a team of mechanical fitters, apprentices, and contractors
• Planning and overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance activities to minimise downtime
• Responding to breakdowns with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach when needed
• Managing and continuously improving the CMMS, ensuring accurate maintenance records and work planning
• Working closely with production, quality, and safety teams to support plant performance and compliance
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives, asset care programs, and root cause analysis of recurring issues
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed to the highest safety, hygiene, and food quality standards (GMP, HACCP, WHS)
• Supporting capital projects, equipment upgrades, and site expansion activities
• Monitoring maintenance KPIs, budgets, and spare parts inventory to support operational efficiency

What you will bring:

• Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor role, ideally within the food, beverage, milling, or FMCG manufacturing sector
• A trade qualification in mechanical or electrical fitting (Cert III or higher) – dual-trade highly regarded
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing maintenance teams, contractors, and external service providers
• A demonstrated ability to implement and improve preventative maintenance strategies and systems
• Solid working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, WHS, and food safety compliance standards
• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, including conveyors, pumps, mixers, gearboxes, and packaging lines
• Welding skills (TIG, Stick, MIG) and ability to provide technical support when required
• A current Forklift licence and a Restricted Electrical Licence (REL)
• Experience working in a mill or similar continuous manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and a strong focus on asset care
• A solutions-driven mindset with excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
• Flexibility to respond to breakdowns and after-hours maintenance needs when required
