The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven People Management and Development skills, Commercial Acumen, Extensive Technical skills and a passion for Customer Service. You will be responsible for taking your Brisbane South / Central Construction Team to Higher Levels of Development and Performance. You must be a True Leader who is capable of running a Building Business within our Larger Business.

Reporting to the Building Support Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing overall construction team performance against key performance indicators
  • Providing coaching and assessing the performance of Site Managers on site
  • Adhering to Metricon's building practices and procedures and looking to further improve upon them
  • Maximising workflow through efficient systems, including trade retention and allocation and supplier management
  • Implementing effective project management with a cost imperative in mind
  • Assuring trades/suppliers are working on each job every day to drive profitability
  • Ensuring all homes are constructed to display homes standards as a minimum; and
  • Fostering a work culture where customer experience, teamwork and staff development are paramount.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Proven experience working as a Construction Manager or an experienced Site Manager wanting to step up
  • Extensive experience from within the volume or boutique home industry with a proven understanding of building regulations and standards
  • Proven commercial skills in managing trades, suppliers and project budgets
  • Leadership qualities which have resulted in the development of others and a high performance team
  • A strong customer service ethic, and the ability to creatively solve technical building matters
  • An ability to manage an OH&S program; and
  • A tertiary qualification in Building /Construction and/or related discipline is highly desirable.
