The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in shaping Microba's financial excellence. Working closely with the CFO, you'll lead financial reporting, compliance, planning, and operations across the group.

How You Will Make an Impact

As Financial Controller, you will:

• Lead financial reporting and compliance, ensuring alignment with ASX requirements and accounting standards
• Own the month-end, quarterly, and year-end processes, delivering Tier 1 financial statements.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling, partnering with senior leaders to align resources with strategic priorities.
• Oversee financial operations including management reporting, payroll, and transactional accounting.
• Manage the audit process with external auditors to the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
• Champion internal controls, compliance, and risk management, safeguarding Microba's financial health.
• Lead and develop a small, capable finance team, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Play an active role in shaping financial strategy, contributing to sustainable long-term value creation

What You Will Bring

• CA qualification with a bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• 5+ years' experience leading end-to-end finance functions in a small–medium sized business.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, financial modelling, and systems capability (Xero, Accurri, Fathom, Phocas).
• Demonstrated experience in ASX-listed reporting highly desirable, ideally in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with an aptitude for leveraging technology to improve financial operations.
• Proven leadership ability – mentoring teams, building collaboration, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
