We are on the hunt for experienced Diesel Fitters to join our Mackay Service Operations team. These are permanent full-time positions working either a 4 and 3 or 7 and 7 roster out of our Paget based workshop.

A Fitter opportunity at Hastings Deering will provide you the experience to develop your skills with the following:

  • Repairing, maintaining, and servicing key CAT machinery.

  • Performing diagnostic assessments on mining equipment.

  • Work as part of as skilled and driven team and get hands on experience with the following: Wheel loaders, Graders, Dozers.

About You

A successful teammate will have experience in: 

  • Trade Qualification – Cert III Engineering (Preferred Diesel Fitters with CAT machine experience. Automotive Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters, Fitter & Turners, Mechanical trades welcome to apply with relevant CAT experience)

  • Demonstrated post trade experience.

  • Computer literate, along with experience in SIS is desirable.

  • Strong commitment to maintain a high level of workplace health and safety.

  • The ability to work within a team and unsupervised.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Proactive approach to promoting and upholding safety standards in all aspects of work.
