Reporting to the Head of Revenue & Giving, the
Major Gifts Manager
will lead the development and implementation of Barnardos' major donor strategy, cultivating high-value relationships to secure significant philanthropic support. You will steward existing donors, but key will be the acquisition of new donors by proactively building the pipeline through effective research, cultivation, and solicitation. This will be achieved by delivering tailored engagement plans, stewardship activities, and compelling proposals that align with Barnardos' mission and strategic priorities.
This role will work closely with senior leadership, program teams, and fundraising colleagues to identify funding opportunities, develop cases for support, and ensure donor impact is clearly communicated. You will also oversee donor events, recognition programs, and reporting to foster long-term partnerships and maximise revenue growth.
About YOU
- You are a strategic and relationship-driven fundraising professional with a passion for social impact.
- 7+ years' experience in major gifts, philanthropy, or high-value fundraising.
- Proven success in high value, relationship driven fundraising and sound knowledge of the Australian philanthropic landscape.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and inspire support.
- Demonstrated experience implementing income raising strategies in a NFP context and a proven track record of delivering against revenue targets.
- Expertise in donor stewardship, proposal development, and impact reporting.
- Highly organised, with excellent project management and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and donor research tools (preferred).
